A home EV charger install isn't one price — a charger right next to a modern 200-amp panel and one that needs a panel upgrade are very different jobs. The ranges below reflect typical Level 2 residential installs across Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach in 2026, permit included where noted.

1. Distance from the panel
The longer the wire run from your panel to the charger location — a detached garage, a far wall, an outdoor spot — the more conduit, wire, and labor. It's the single biggest cost swing.
2. Your panel's capacity
A 40–50A charger is a big continuous load. Many South Florida homes on older 100–150A panels need a subpanel, a load manager, or a full 200A upgrade to add it safely.
3. Permit, inspection, and FPL
EV circuits require a permit and inspection across Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach, and any service upgrade needs FPL coordination. We handle the permit and scheduling; it's built into the price.
4. Hardwired vs. plug-in
A NEMA 14-50 outlet works for many chargers; hardwiring is required for higher-amperage or outdoor units and is a bit more involved.

How to keep the cost down
